• After being held in Denver, Colorado in 2010, the Motocross of Nations returns to France in 2011
• The International Motorcycling Federation decided to organize this competition, in Saint-Jean-d'Angély, the weekend September 17-18. The most prestigious competition in the world of motocross, created in 1947, and considered the "Olympics of Motocross" has taken place eight times in France, a country well represented in this discipline with many world champions. This is the second time the event is held in Saint-Jean-d’Angély. This annual competition, with over thirty national teams from around the world, will close the 2011 Motocross season.
• 200 journalists and nearly 50,000 spectators per day are expected to attend the grand final of the world motocross championships on a circuit substantially revamped in 2010. It was on this circuit, the Puy de Poursay, that the Grand Prix de France was held in June this year.
